About FM Doctor

FM Doctor helps operational and leadership teams in regulated environments make defensible decisions about AI — without hype, overreach, or “tool-first” thinking.

What FM Doctor is

A bounded advisory practice

The work is designed to establish clarity early: what’s actually happening, what the constraints are, and what a sensible next step looks like.

  • Advice-only support (not certification or sign-off).
  • Grounded in operational reality: data, governance, capacity, approvals.
  • Focused on decision support, not delivery theatre.
  • Clear boundaries on what is — and isn’t — being provided.
Why it exists

Because “use AI” is not a plan

Many organisations are under pressure to “do something with AI” without agreement on guardrails, data handling, or what success looks like. That creates noise, risk, and wasted effort.

  • Surface the real problems before choosing tools.
  • Make risk and governance requirements explicit (and proportional).
  • Help leaders decide what’s worth doing, what isn't, and how to make meaningful next steps.

Who’s behind it

Craig Bromyard, founder of FM Doctor

FM Doctor is led by Craig Bromyard (sole trader). I’m a Facilities Manager in an NHS mental health trust with 10+ years across healthcare and commercial settings, including acute and private hospital environments. I’ve worked on contract mobilisation, performance improvement, and reducing admin through better processes and data.

A lot of teams are being handed “AI” with little training and unclear guardrails — and hoping value appears without risk. FM Doctor is here to translate the tech into the reality of regulated operations, helping teams move in small, safe steps toward a more data-enabled way of working.

What this is not

FM Doctor is advice-only. Clients remain responsible for decisions, implementation, and compliance.
Not provided
  • Implementation, configuration, or running systems on your behalf.
  • Certification, sign-off, statutory inspection, or assurance.
  • Legal advice, engineering design, or compliance certification.
  • Automated decision-making.
What you do get
  • A reality-based view of current state (behaviour vs policy).
  • A proportional view of risk and governance needs.
  • Clear options and practical next steps.
  • Written outputs that support leadership decisions.

Next step

If you want to sanity-check whether AI is actually relevant in your context (and what the constraints are), get in touch. A short email is enough.
